A. D. Will, MD, K. L. Lewis, MD, D. B. Hinshaw, Jr., MD, K. Jordan, MD, L. M. Cousins, MD, A. N. Hasso, MD and J. R. Thompson, MD

Department of Internal Medicine, Neurology Section (Drs. Will and Jordan), Radiation Sciences, Section of Neuroradiology (Drs. Lewis, Hinshaw, Hasso, and Thompson), and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Dr. Cousins), Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loima Linda, CA.

Three patients with toxemia developed acute neurologic deterioration postpartum. In all, cerebral angiography revealed widespread arterial vasoconstriction. Cerebral vasoconstriction may be an important cause of neurologic complications in toxemia.
